why go green & grind?
GREEN & GRIND Limited is a Hong Kong-based sports academy that strives to empower everyone to GO GREEN & GRIND - in other words - to empower everyone to adopt an active and eco-conscious lifestyle. Our vision is to build an eco-active world, for the wellbeing of ourselves and that of the planet Earth.
To achieve our vision, we must tackle two of the biggest global health and environmental issues - Inactive and unsustainable lifestyles.
Inactive Lifestyle
A World Health Organisation 2020 report stated that more than 80% of the world's adolescent population is insufficiently physically active. Huang et al. (2019) research showed that children and youth in Hong Kong have low physical activity and physical fitness levels. The research also showed they have high sedentary behaviours and a high prevalence of obesity.
Unsustainable Lifestyle
The United Nations Sustainable Develop Goals 2021 report stated that population growth combined with an unsustainable lifestyle is having a devastating impact on our planet - propelling climate change, plastic pollution and destroying nature. According to the analysis of Hong Kong's Ecological Footprint (WWF), we need 4.4 Earths if everyone on Earth adopts the Hong Kong lifestyle.
If we continue to be physically inactive, we will lead our children to an unhealthy and unfulfilling life. And if we continue to live beyond our means, we will leave warming and dying planet for our children and generations to come. This is not the future we want!
It is time to change. It is time to go GREEN & GRIND. And it is why Green & Grind Limited is founded.
We pledge to do our very best to empower everyone to go green and grind.
